About Our Albany Ballet Classes: The Cecchetti Method
At Redemption Dance Institute, our Albany ballet classes follow the traditional and widely used Cecchetti method of ballet dance training. The Cecchetti method of learning ballet is very structured, focusing on form, movement, and flow of the body as a whole. From the foot to the leg to the arm to the head, our Albany ballet classes will help all students, from those just beginning to take ballet classes to experienced dancers, go about this form of dance in a graceful and beautiful manner.
The History of Cecchetti
Enrico Cecchetti was an Italian ballet master whose teachings provide the basis for the Cecchetti method of learning ballet. Through a rigid training regime, Cecchetti sought to instill the principles of ballet into the dancers in a way that they would no longer need to rely on imitating the movements of their teachers, but would rather be so in-tune with the guiding techniques and movement of their body they would be able to perform equistiately, gracefully, and airily on their own. It is a comprehensive method of teaching ballet that develops the dancer’s technique and further maintains the dancer’s ability.
Graceful lines, quality of movement and becoming self-reliant is the focus with this form of ballet lessons. With the help of our experienced dance instructors who have all be qualified by the Dance Educators of America, Redemption Dance Institute provides this structured form of learning ballet in a manner that is enjoyable and beneficial to the students. Whether you want to enhance your skill for a future career in dance or would like your child to experience this beautiful form of creative expression as a way for them to grow and learn about themselves, Redemption Dance Institute can help you reach whatever goal you have in mind for taking our Albany ballet classes.
